The new facility, located at 1540 Luna Road, will serve as a warehouse and distribution center, and the company’s existing location at 2055 Luna Road will be dedicated to manufacturing and development. The addition of the new space, 0.3 miles from the company’s headquarters, nearly doubles its current manufacturing and distribution space and triples its current storage area.
“Swiss-American has a long history in North Texas, specifically in Carrollton as we’ve been at our current location for more than 15 years, and we are excited to build even stronger roots in our community,” said Philip O’Neill, CEO of Swiss-American. “By consistently making smart investments over time, we are able to advance our capabilities in developing, manufacturing and distributing high-quality skin, sun and wound care products to customers around the globe.”
Swiss American CDMO has steadily invested in facilities, people and equipment to advance development and manufacturing solutions in topical over-the-counter (OTC) drug, medical device and personal skin care products. Over the past three years, the company has generated a 29% compound annual growth rate and was recently recognized as one of Inc. 5000’s 2020 fastest growing companies and was the only contract manufacturer to enter and win the Fall 2019 In-Cosmetics Formulation Challenge.
“The city council is pleased that Swiss American CDMO has chosen to stay in Carrollton and expand into a new industrial warehouse and distribution center," Mayor Kevin Falconer said. "Focusing on a strong workforce and empowering businesses are, and will remain, major city council objectives. In fact, we work hard to make Carrollton the place that both families and businesses want to call home. We appreciate Swiss-American's commitment to Carrollton and the added employment opportunities the new facility will bring to our community.”
With the additional distribution and warehouse space at 1540 Luna Road for finished goods storage and efficient distribution, the existing headquarters facility can accommodate expansion of laboratory services, new production lines and innovative equipment. Swiss American CDMO produces advanced skin and wound care products critical to the healthcare supply chain, and the expansion will help advance new discoveries and technologies.
“Swiss American CDMO continues to leverage adaptable and efficient work-flow planning, new technology integration and exacting quality systems and standards. Our new warehouse and distribution facility is well integrated within our enterprise resource planning management system and introduces upgrades to fulfillment, logistics and distribution services for our global client needs – all while maintaining our commitment to lean manufacturing,” said Ede Payne, COO of Swiss-American. “We’re proud to be a part of our clients’ continued success, which has allowed us to grow with them over our rich 30-year history.”
