DCAT Week is the must-attend event for hundreds of Bio/Pharma companies and their business networks. In addition to providing DCAT Member Companies with a forum for high-level strategic meetings with key decision makers, DCAT Week offers networking events and education programs to help DCAT members expand their business networks and stay informed on the latest industry trends, analysis, and best practices.

DCAT Week is hosted and organized by the Drug, Chemical & Associated Technologies Association (DCAT), a not-for-profit, corporate member-supported, and volunteer-led global business development association for companies engaged in the Bio/Pharmaceutical manufacturing value chain, composed of more than 500 corporate members that include innovator and generic drug companies and suppliers of ingredients, development and manufacturing services, and related technologies. The vast majority of DCAT Week attendees (92%) are high-level decision makers, with one in four attendees being C-suite executives.

Through its unique model, DCAT Member Companies hold private meetings with customers, suppliers, and potential business partners in reserved Business Meeting Space across six Official DCAT Week Hotels. Although those meetings are mostly pre-scheduled, DCAT Week’s activities and events offer additional opportunities for introductions, impromptu meetings, and other networking and business connections. DCAT Week 2022 will offer additional networking opportunities and new education programs.

Day 1: Business Intelligence with a Side of Networking
DCAT Week kicks off with a mix of valuable programs offering major news announcements from DCAT Member Companies, an executive summary of a new DCAT Benchmarking study on the role of sustainability in the Bio/Pharma supply chain, and a market overview of the global Bio/Pharmaceutical industry.

At the DCAT Member Company Announcement Forum, senior executives of DCAT Member Companies share their companies’ latest major developments impacting the Bio/Pharmaceutical manufacturing value chain, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and significant manufacturing expansions.

The Forum is followed by a presentation on the results of DCAT’s latest benchmarking study, Incorporating Sustainability in the Bio/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain. DCAT surveyed its Member Companies (Bio/Pharma companies, CDMOs/CMOs, and suppliers) to examine the progress being made toward sustainability in the Bio/Pharma supply chain (including manufacturing, packaging, and logistics). Developed by the DCAT Research & Benchmarking Committee, the study examines the sustainability goals and programs of Bio/Pharma companies and suppliers and their progress in meeting those targets.

DCAT Week’s popular Pharma Industry Outlook Program with Networking Reception is invaluable for its in-depth market overview of the current and projected performance of the global pharmaceutical industry. Graham Lewis, Vice President of Global Pharma Strategy at IQVIA, will share the latest market data and trends for innovator and generic drugs, leading therapeutic sectors, and growth prospects in developed and emerging markets. Following the market overview, Daniel Cohen, Managing Director & Global Head of Healthcare Services Investment Banking, RBC Capital Markets LLC, will provide a financial overview of the CDMO/CMO sector.
Following the presentations is a networking reception where attendees can catch up with colleagues old and new and discuss learnings from the day.

Day 2:  DCAT Run/Walk, Navigating the New Supply Chain Paradigm & More
Early risers can start the day with the DCAT Week Run & Walk in Central Park. Transportation will be provided to and from Central Park, where participants can get a healthy start to their day while exploring NYC’s beloved park.

Later that morning, Executive Insights: Navigating the New Supply Chain Paradigm features a panel discussion of leading industry executives on how Bio/Pharma companies and their suppliers are responding to the supply-chain challenges of today and what additional practices are being put into play. Executives from Merck & Co., Lilly, and Evonik will share perspectives.

Every year, the DCAT organization provides its membership with the opportunity to hear from business and scientific leaders who are shaping the industry. In previous years, that’s included CEOs and Nobel Prize winners. This year is no exception! The Innovation Leaders: A Conversation with Aamir Malik, Executive Vice President and Chief Business Innovation Officer, Pfizer, will feature an in-depth dialogue on the key issues shaping current and future drug development and the factors impacting product innovation in the Bio/Pharmaceutical industry. The session will provide valuable perspective from a C-suite executive on what Bio/Pharma companies and their suppliers need to do to be at the forefront of product innovation. This is a complimentary program for representatives from DCAT Member Companies.

After a busy day of meetings, the DCAT Member Company Networking Reception is the perfect opportunity to catch up with colleagues before heading out to customer dinners. With over 700 representatives from DCAT member companies in attendance, it is among the largest networking events of DCAT Week.

Day 3:  Women’s Networking Breakfast, Program with Michigan State University & More
The popular Women’s Networking Breakfast will feature a presentation by Jean Chatzky, founder and CEO of HerMoney.com and FinanceFixx and author of Women with Money: The Judgment-Free Guide to Creating the Joyful, Less Stressed, Purposeful (and Yes, Rich) Life You Deserve. In this dynamic and engaging keynote, Jean will draw on her 25+ years of experience as a bestselling financial author, speaker, and podcast host to take attendees through the steps women need to take today to live comfortably (and worry-free) tomorrow. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the money story that drives their behavior, how to invest for success, and how to forge a plan to get from where they are now to where they want to be in the future.

The final program of the day is Supply Chain Digitalization, Business Analytics & Technology Applications, which will provide practical insight into how digital technologies will influence the Bio/Pharma supply chain and its impact on how business is conducted with supply-chain partners. Developed with DCAT’s Supply Management Committee, this is the inaugural program of a partnership between DCAT and Michigan State University’s (MSU) Eli Broad College of Business and its top-ranked Department of Supply Chain Management (SCM), whose faculty are thought leaders at the forefront of the SCM field. This is the first of four innovative education programs that will be offered exclusively to DCAT Member Companies in 2022 as part of DCAT’s partnership with MSU.

Stay for the Business Card Exchange: Afternoon Power Snack, a new networking event where attendees can exchange ideas and insights with colleagues.

Day 4: Meetings & an Elegant Finale
DCAT Week may be wrapping up, but the final day of DCAT Week offers two more opportunities to connect with colleagues. First, at the Business Card Exchange: Morning Coffee, attendees can swap business cards and network informally.

Following another busy day of business meetings, DCAT Week concludes with the 94th DCAT Annual Dinner. This black-tie event on Thursday evening, March 24th, is not to be missed! DCAT members and their guests will gather in the Grand Ballroom in the New York Hilton Midtown for this festive celebration, which includes a keynote address by Academy Award, Golden Globe, SAG and Emmy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman.**UPDATE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the original speaker scheduled for the DCAT Annual Dinner, Nicole Kidman, had to cancel her plans to attend. DCAT was able to secure George Clooney, Academy Award-winning actor and producer, author, philanthropist and humanitarian, as the new special guest for the evening.
