Ampoule (Ampule)

A small glass vial sealed after filling. Ampoules were one of the earliest devices developed for safe storage of a sterile injectable. Ampoules are usually made of glass. Modern ampoules are most commonly used to contain pharmaceuticals and chemicals that must be protected from air and contaminants. It is a measured quantity ready for injecting.
