Sales Director & Publisher

Position Overview

This position is a key leadership role with a leading media brand in the dynamic pharmaceutical industry, responsible for overseeing one of Rodman Media’s largest brands. The role includes managing editorial, production, art, and sales teams, as well as overseeing the industry’s premier conference dedicated to pharmaceutical contract manufacturing further reinforcing the brand’s market leadership. The Publisher/Brand Manager will drive revenue growth, identify new business opportunities, and play a pivotal role in shaping brand strategy while ensuring success across print, digital, and other media channels.

Essential Job Functions

  • Brand Leadership: Manage and lead all aspects of the brand, including editorial, production, art, and sales teams. Ability to travel and meet clients in person and at events.
  • Editorial Calendar: Collaborate with editorial and production teams to set and maintain the annual editorial calendar.
  • Sales Management: Directly oversee sales representatives dedicated to selling print and digital advertisements for the brand.
  • Sales Contribution: Manage a sales territory, contributing to the overall revenue goals.
  • Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth through innovative strategies and by identifying new opportunities across print, digital, and emerging platforms.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute short- and long-term plans to enhance the brand’s market position and profitability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing and digital, to ensure alignment with the company’s overall goals.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor brand performance and adjust strategies to achieve or exceed revenue and engagement targets.
  • Conference Management: Oversee the industry’s leading conference focused on pharmaceutical contract manufacturing, ensuring its continued success and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field required.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within media, publishing, or a related industry.
  • Background in an advertising agency is a plus
  • Strong background in sales management and revenue growth, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of B2B markets and digital advertising trends is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in CRM technology and Microsoft Suite
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to travel both domestically and internationally
