Tjoapack Expands U.S. and European Packaging Capacity
Invests in injectable packaging and cold chain capabilities.

Tjoapack, a Netherlands-based contract packaging organization, is expanding its sterile packaging and cold chain storage capabilities in the United States and Europe, aiming to meet growing demand for injectable and biologic drug products.
The company is investing in infrastructure at its Clinton, Tennessee facility, where two new packaging lines are being installed. One is a fully automated high-speed vial packaging line with an annual capacity of up to 20 million units, expected to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2025. The second is a semi-automated line for auto-injectors, scheduled for qualification in the third quarter.
Tjoapack has also expanded cold chain storage at the Clinton site, adding 160 pallet spaces under 2–8°C conditions. The area has been validated and is now operational. In Europe, the company’s Etten-Leur facility will increase its cold storage capacity to 120 pallet spaces by June 2025, following the validation of 84 new locations.
The Etten-Leur site recently completed its first commercial project for pre-filled syringe (PFS) packaging. The automated line supports syringe assembly, safety device application, and ancillary component insertion. Tjoapack said the move reflects broader industry trends favoring patient-centric delivery formats.
CEO Dexter Tjoa said the upgrades are designed to improve turnaround times and supply chain resilience while maintaining compliance with global GMP standards. “We are committed to building scalable, compliant infrastructure that ensures the efficient delivery of vital therapies without compromising on flexibility or quality,” he said.
The company’s expanded capabilities support a range of container formats, including vials, ampoules, syringes, and auto-injectors, and are intended to serve both new and existing clients across North America and Europe.
