Editor’s Take: The pace of AI adoption across pharma, in varied ways, continues to be brisk.

Welcome back to The Friday Brief. Last week, we took a look at how AI is continuing to shape and shift the pharma industry. This week: more of the same. Bristol Myers Squibb will deploy Claude’s agentic AI across 30,000 employees in research, clinical development, manufacturing, commercial, and corporate functions. At Incyte, they are engaging Edison Scientific’s AI scientist, Kosmos, across the discovery and development lifecycle.

Also, Helio Genomics, an AI-powered TechBio company, is partnering with Syneos Health. The goal is to drive adoption of a blood-based test for early detection of a common form of liver cancer.

Many more partnerships like that being announced or expanded this week, but it was also a big week for acquisitions. Neurocrine Biosciences completed its nearly $3 billion acquisition of Soleno Therapeutics. Pinnaql acquired Pharma Resource Group, following its buyout of Validation & Engineering Group last year. And just breaking, United Immunity is bringing on multiple assets from Carisma Therapeutics for treatment of cancer and liver fibrosis.

Companies are continuing to expand all by themselves, as well. Fujifilm Cellular Dynamics has opened a new headquarters and iPSC development and manufacturing facility in Wisconsin. Sartorius opened a new competence center in Germany. And Curia is upgrading its aseptic suites in Spain at a cost of $4 million.
