Editor’s Take: Vault AI for CRM’s capabilities align with industry-wide desire for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness using AI.

Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, is selecting Veeva Vault CRM worldwide, becoming the latest pharmaceutical company to adopt the platform. Merck KGaA operates as MilliporeSigma in the United States.

Veeva Vault CRM Explained

Vault CRM is part of Veeva’s Vault CRM suite of applications, a collective that provides a foundation for commercial execution. One application among those, Vault AI for CRM, offers multiple AI agents that emphasize commercial efficiency and effectiveness.

“We continue to work with Veeva as part of our ongoing digital initiatives,” Michael Motz, CIO Healthcare, Merck KGaA, said. “Veeva Vault integrates into our broader data‑driven ecosystem. [It supports] consistent processes and data connectivity across functions while allowing flexibility as our operating model evolves.”

“Merck KGaA [is] engaged in R&D of therapies for complex medical conditions,” Chris Moore, Veeva Europe President, said.

Moore added that Merck KGaA has a goal to make a difference to millions of patients.

“We are honored to continue our close collaboration with the healthcare business of Merck KGaA,” Moore said. “Vault CRM [enables] customer centricity and agentic AI directly embedded in workflows.”

Merck KGaA Joins Others

In the last 12 months, numerous companies have made commitments to using Veeva Vault CRM. Novo Nordisk’s International Operations business unit adopted the platform in January 2026. Roche did so in November 2025, as did Bristol Myers Squibb and Gilead Sciences, both in September 2025.

Merck (differentiated from Merck KGaA, and known as MSD outside the United States and Canada) adopted it in July 2025.

Overall, Veeva serves more than 1500 customers—from major biopharmaceutical companies to emerging biotechs—delivering software, AI, data, and consulting. In providing these services, the company says it focuses on innovation, product excellence, and the success of its customers.
