Editor’s Take: AI-driven technologies in R&D, drug discovery, and other elements of the pharma value chain continue changing the industry.

Sanyou Biopharmaceutical Co. and Guangzhou Baiyunshan Xihe Health Pharmaceutical Co., both of China, signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

The partnership will develop novel radiopharmaceuticals and radiodiagnostic products. Sanyou Bio and Baiyunshan Xihe are integrating respective core strengths: AI-driven molecule discovery, and the nuclear medicine industrial value chain. Both parties, however, possess deep insights into trends in the nuclear medicine industry, plus mutual recognition of each other’s capabilities.

Relationship Goals

The goal of the collaboration is building an end-to-end innovation chain that spans target molecule discovery to clinical translation of radiopharmaceuticals. Development of radiopharmaceuticals, and radiodiagnostic products, the companies say, places high demand on precision, stability, and druggability of targeting molecules.

The companies jointly believe their partnership will result in “transformative solutions” for precision diagnosis and therapy, particularly in oncology.

What Sanyou and Baiyunshan Will Contribute

Sanyou Bio is leveraging its AI-Super trillion antibody/molecule libraries, AI-STAL for short, and AI-Drug Accelerator (SAI-DA). Baiyunshan Xihe is providing end-to-end capabilities in novel medical radionuclide production, good manufacturing practice (GMP) manufacturing, and clinical translation.

Together, these technologies will advance partnered molecules into radiolabeling, in-vitro and in-vivo evaluation, and preclinical studies.

Company Leaders Respond

Lang Guojun, PhD, Sanyou Bio Founder and CEO, said the collaboration aligns with Sanyou’s mission. That mission is explained as “to make it easy to develop new drugs worldwide.”

“This synergy is a key step in deeply connecting our AI-driven molecular discovery capabilities with a leading platform,” Guojun said.

Baiyunshan Xihe Chairman and General Manager Liu Hong agreed.

“This [will] complement our capabilities in targeting molecule discovery, [accelerating] layout and advancement of our theranostic radiopharmaceutical pipeline,” Hong said.
