DemeRx Taps Michael Snitkovsky as New COO

DemeRx, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company concentrating on addiction therapeutics, named Michael Snitkovsky its new Chief Operations Officer (COO).

Currently, DemeRx’s lead program is DMX-1001, oral noribogaine, for alcohol use disorder.

New COO Experience

Snitkovsky’s 20-plus years of experience as a biopharma executive include Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Finch Therapeutics, Red Oak Medicines, and Valerio Therapeutics. He has also held consulting roles at Biogen and Sanofi.

Notably, at Alnylam, Snitkovsky led the team that commercialized the first RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutic, also Alnylam’s first commercial product. With Finch, Snitkovsky led two programs contained within a $70 million partnership with Takeda.

Snitkovsky’s expertise spans chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC) strategy, regulatory execution, and global alliance management. His subject areas of specialization include neurological and psychiatric disorders—including major depressive disorder—oncology, immunology, gastrointestinal, and rare diseases.

With respect to global alliances, Snitkovsky has also led multinational collaborations, strategic partnerships among these. Across major regulatory jurisdictions, he has overseen Investigational New Drug and Clinical Trial, Biologics License, and New Drug application submissions.

At DemeRx, Snitkovsky will help the company continue to advance its clinical programs, and build operational infrastructure for future development.
