Körber Pharma, AWS Partner on PAS-X MES in Life Sciences Manufacturing

Aims to establish a qualification strategy for operating PAS-X MES in the AWS Cloud in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Körber has partnered with AWS to strengthen supply chain resilience for life sciences manufacturers by providing its Werum PAS-X MES software products as fully managed software hosted in the AWS Cloud.

The partnership aims to address manufacturers need for flexible and scalable solutions that enable them to operate quickly and cost-effectively. Supply chain resilience and time-to-market for new product introductions are key for the industry. Customers are increasingly look to adopt cloud and as-a-service solutions to help meet these demands.

Körber and AWS are working closely with the industry to establish a qualification strategy for operating PAS-X MES in the AWS Cloud in compliance with regulatory requirements. The AWS Cloud includes cybersecurity, redundancy and high availability architectures using AWS availability zones.

Leveraging Werum PAS-X MES as a Service, life sciences companies can focus manufacturing pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical medicines, with Körber providing application and infrastructure support. According to the company, customers’ IT responsibility is reduced by 75%, and upfront investment can be decreased by up to 65%, with minimized costs for deployment and operations.

Körber’s Werum PAS-X MES integrates manufacturing software with pharma-specific transport, inspection, and packaging equipment.

AWS solutions offers advanced functionality to help enhance the MES layer, including data, analytics, and application layers. AWS supports numerous companies in the pharma and life sciences sectors as a cloud infrastructure and service provider.

AWS provides a foundation with AWS landing zone, logging and monitoring, and provisioning capabilities. AWS meets global compliance standards, including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications for enhanced security.
