Will collaborate on pharma packaging initiatives
February 25, 2014

Managing Editor, Contract Pharma
Pharma Packaging Solutions (PPS) and Quality Packaging Specialists International (QPSI) have joined The Healthcare Compliance Packaging Council (HCPC) as members. HCPC is a not-for-profit trade association that was established in 1990 to promote the many benefits of unit dose packaging. QPSI has recently made a significant investment in a new pharma packaging facility in Macungie, PA, and continues to grow its customer and application base for this new site, with a focus on adherence packaging. “We are excited to begin our journey with the HCPC in 2014 and we look forward to many more years of collaboration with this successful trade organization,” said QPSI founder and president, Mike Ricketts. “QPSI recognizes the dire need for better patient adherence to their medication regimen and we wholly agree that packaging can play a fundamental role in this improvement. QPSI is committed to contributing to this need in a positive way.” PPS provides primary and secondary packaging for pharmaceuticals (Rx, OTC, generics), nutraceuticals, specialty foods, personal care products, medical devices, and veterinary healthcare products, in the forms of: bottle filling, blister packaging, folding carton production, pouching, repackaging, cold chain packaging and compliance packaging. The company also offers a CR-SF solution, the CRx Pack, and is approved by the FDA, DEA, MHRA and The Tennessee Board of Pharmacy, and is also GDUFA registered. “Our continued growth in membership is a testimony to the pharmaceutical packaging industry’s commitment to improving patient adherence and outcomes through innovative packaging solutions,” said Walt Berghahn, HCPC executive director.
