EMD Serono Appoints Medical Affairs VP

Munschauer brings 30 years of experience in neurology

Frederick E. Munschauer has been appointed vice president of Medical Affairs, Neurology and Immunology at EMD Serono, the U.S. biopharmaceuticals subsidiary of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. Dr. Munschauer will lead the medical affairs activities for clinical, commercial and business development projects and collaborations for Rebif (interferon beta-1a) as well as the company’s Immunology and Neurology pipeline.
 
Dr. Munschauer has more than 30 years of experience in neurology, specifically multiple sclerosis. He joins the company from Biogen, where he most recently as chief medical advisor. During his tenure at Biogen he also served as head, US Medical Affairs and head, Global Medical Affairs.
