Daicel Chiral Technologies has opened its new preparative chiral separations facility located in Ann Arbor, MI. This new facility is capable of handling small to large-scale preparative separations projects, and seamlessly interfaces with Daicel’s global network of separations facilities in France, China, India, and Japan. Personnel Appointments and Promotions Daicel Chiral Technologies also hired Chad Simpson, as its HPLC Chemist, to oversee the preparative separations at the new facility. Prior to joining Daicel Chiral Technologies, Simpson was a process development chemist with CordenPharma in Boulder, Colorado. At Corden, he handled sample prep and analysis, instrument maintenance, reporting and customer presentations. Prior to Corden, Simpson progressed through several roles at Zoetis, Inc. in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He has a great deal of experience in HPLC and is proficient at maintaining and troubleshooting equipment. In addition to Simpson, the company promoted Lindsey Merchant as the company’s new inside sales representative. Merchant joined Daicel Chiral Technologies in 2019 as a member of the Customer Care team working in the company’s headquarters in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She was soon promoted to senior customer care representative in 2020, where she assumed a leadership role in the department. In her new role as Inside Sales Representative, Merchant will be responsible for managing academic and government markets, as well as the central region of the US. In this new role, Merchant will be developing and maintaining customer relationships while ensuring they are aware of the company’s latest product offerings. In addition to these responsibilities, Merchant will also coordinate the column selection service working with all customers to navigate Daicel Chiral Technologies’ free screening process.
