David Serota, Ph.D., DABT, MPI Research’s senior vice president of drug safety development and senior principal study director, will serve as the 2012 American College of Toxicology (ACT) president. Dr. Serota has been a member of ACT since 1981 and has served on the membership committee, served as councilor, vice president, and president-elect. During his role as vice president he chaired the awards committee, and most recently chaired the program committee as president-elect.
Dr. Serota has held numerous scientific and leadership positions for the past 34 years. Before joining MPI Research in 1997, he served as director of laboratory operations and senior staff scientist at Hazleton Laboratories America (now Covance), and director of toxicology at Southern Research Institute. He has conducted and reported more than 1,000 toxicology studies during his career in the preclinical research industry.
